GEOKON hosted its Third International Agents Meeting, November 16-19 in Haarlem, Netherlands. Organized by GEOKON’s Tony Simmonds and Robert Vander Veen of our Netherlands representative Koenders Instruments BV, the event brought much of GEOKON’s worldwide agent network to a single location for the first time, building on earlier regional successes in Iceland (Europe, North America - 2008) and Singapore (Asia-Pacific – 2009). 26 countries were represented in Haarlem.

The workshop-style format comprised a mix of GEOKON case study presentations by each agent, an introduction of new products by GEOKON Electronics Manager Colin Judd, and featured presentations by leading industry experts on remote sensing techniques, internet data visualization, bridge monitoring, fiber optics, vibration monitoring, and pile testing. The meeting concluded with the results of a recent agent’s survey, a tour of the new Agents Resource Site, and a slideshow with pictures of GEOKON Sales, Engineering, and Administrative staff not in attendance.

With full-service dining and beverage venues adjacent to the meeting room, and an easy taxi, bus, or walk into historic Haarlem, the Van der Valk Hotel served as a convenient base of operation for the meeting, the opening night Ice Breaker, casual group meals, and individual and group activities in town.
