On April 28th-30th, 2009 GEOKON held its first Asia-Pacific Agents/Representatives meeting in Singapore. Nearly 30 agents attended from 12 countries for the 3-day event.
The agenda and format, which were similar to the successful European Agents meeting held in Iceland in 2008, included:
The meeting was coordinated by GEOKON and Tritech, Ltd. (in Singapore). Dr. C. K. Loh provided a dynamic opening presentation on excavation and tunneling works in Singapore. Dr. Loh also hosted a delicious dinner on the waterfront, and his skilled staff greatly assisted with all meeting and site visit logistics.
In addition, there were guest presentations by IDS Australasia, makers of Microwave Interferometers, a FBG Fiber-Optic sensor presentation by Dr. Lu of GEOKON Beijing and a report on monitoring the Zermanice Dam from Ludek Novosad of G4C, GEOKON’s agent in Czech Republic, who was unable to attend last year’s European meeting.
The event concluded with a multi-course formal dinner at Club Chinois, a well-known Chinese restaurant.
Similar meetings for both our Asia-Pacific and European Agents will be held in the future.
Demonstrations, presentations and the exchange of ideas all took place during our first Asia-Pacific Agents meeting.
