Vibrating Wire Readout Box

Model GK-403

The Model GK-403 is designed for use with all of Geokon’s vibrating wire sensors in all kinds of weather conditions and comes with a battery charger, patch cord, RS-232 interface cable, communications software and manual. Storage of the readings is a simple one-button operation and each stored reading is identified by a reference number, ranging from 1 to 256, plus time, date and temperature. All readings can be transmitted to a host computer and imported into spreadsheet and database applications. Terminal boxes, allowing instrument cables to be grouped and read at one convenient location, are also available.

Vibrating Wire Readout Box

Model GK-404

The Model GK-404 Vibrating Wire Readout Box is a portable, low-power, hand-held unit that is capable of running for more than 20 hours continuously on two AA batteries. It is designed for the readout of all Geokon vibrating wire gages and transducers, and is capable of displaying the reading in either digits, frequency (Hz), period (µs), or microstrain (µε) . The GK-404 also displays the temperature of the transducer (embedded thermistor) with a resolution of 0.1°C.

Inclinometer Readout

Model GK-604

The Model GK-604 Inclinometer Readout is a rugged, hand-held, easy-to-use instrument designed to read MEMS and force balance type inclinometer probes, which have voltage outputs. In use, the probe is connected by its control cable to the Model GK-604-4 Interface, which converts its signal and transmits the data, via Bluetooth® radio, to the hand-held Model GK-604-6 Field PC. The readout is supplied complete with a hand strap, stylus, USB sync cable, Lithium-Ion battery, AC wall charger (with international plug kit), screen protector, CD-ROM (with license and manuals) and Quick Start Guide.

Linear Potentiometer Readout Box

Model RB-100

The Model RB-100 Linear Potentiometer Readout Box is designed to read Geokon’s range of Model 1500 Linear Potentiometers. The unit utilizes a high resolution, 4.5 digit LCD digital voltmeter with circuitry to power and read out the potentiometers. A three wire ratio-metric system is used to minimize errors caused by long lead lengths and varying temperatures. In use, a regulated voltage is applied to the ends of the potentiometer resistance element and the position of a wiper that rides along the element can be determined by the voltage measured at this point.

MEMS Readout Box

Model RB-500

The Model RB-500 MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Sensor) Readout Box is designed to read the voltage output from the Geokon Model 6100 Series MEMS sensors. The RB-500 incorporates a 12 volt, 1.2 Ahr lead acid battery, a 4½ digit liquid crystal display (LCD), a power on/off switch, an A/B selector switch, a battery charger circuit, an AC adaptor connector, and an Input Junction Box Assembly. The RB-500 supplies +12 V power to the MEMS sensor and displays the output in volts, which is proportional to the angle of inclination.
