Cable Prep Specialist

• GEOKON is a manufacturer of sensors and instrumentation used in civil, mining and structural engineering projects throughout the world.

  We are currently seeking a Cable Prep Specialist, who at the direction of the Production Supervisor, is responsible for performing daily cable preparation to include picking, cutting, spooling, and packing cable as well as some warehouse functions including using an electric pallet jack/fork truck to move materials and perform cycle counts. This is a full-time position.

  Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Cable preparation, including stripping, tinning, and labeling:
  • Work with various cable machines
  • Loading and setting-up cable machine(s)
  • Cut cables and labels per customer specifications
  • Operate pallet jack/fork truck
  • Perform product cycle counts as required
  • Maintain basic department specific instructions
  • Maintain equipment and a clean and safe work environment
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor

  Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  Other Requirements:

  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and written
  • Ability to understand quality control principles
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance and supervision
  • Ability to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Able to keep records of production quantities and time
  • Ability to work well with others and within a team environment
  • Willingness to switch tasks frequently
  • Self-motivation skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack/fork truck and become certified
  • Ability to maintain equipment and a clean work environment
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
