    Under the direction of the Purchasing Supervisor, coordinate the activities involved in procuring goods and services for GEOKON. This includes raw materials, equipment, tools and supplies, electronics and items produced to GEOKON Designs and specifications.

    We are seeking a skilled and personable Purchasing Agent to assist us with buying goods and services for our business. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and strong analytical mindset. You should know how to evaluate market conditions and different suppliers. Communication skills will assist you to negotiate effectively and maintain profitable relationships. This is a full-time position.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    • Review MRP buy advices for accuracy
    • Review Daily Delivery Receipts
    • Create and issue purchase orders
    • Review and process requisitions
    • Prepare and process request for quotes
    • Maintain Procurement Records
    • Provide Accounting with necessary information to process invoices
    • Discuss defective or unacceptable goods with Quality Dept and vendors
    • Follow up with vendors to expedite the delivery of goods
    • Review purchase orders and contracts for conformance to company policy
    • Assist with purchasing systems and procedures

    Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • 1-3 years’ experience with inventory management in the thousands

    Other Requirements:

    • Demonstrated experience in negotiating prices, terms and conditions
    • Knowledge of market research, data analysis and purchasing best practices
    • Problem solver with a strong analytical mindset
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers a must
    • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office: Microsoft® Word™, Excel®, and Outlook® software)
    • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
    • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
    • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
    • Manufacturing methods and procedures
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States
