Regional Sales Engineer | Northeast/Mid-Atlantic

  • GEOKON is a manufacturer of sensors and instrumentation used in civil, mining and structural engineering projects throughout the world.

    We are currently seeking a Regional Sales Engineer, preferably who resides in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic area, who will establish and maintain strong customer relationships and secure orders for GEOKON. You will provide high-class customer service and increase the company’s growth and revenue through sales This is a full-time remote position.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    • Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and current customers
    • Assist customers in identifying the appropriate instrumentation for their application/project
    • Provide product and technical engineering information by answering questions and requests
    • Establish new accounts by identifying potential customers
    • Plan, organize and perform sales visits, presentations, lunch and learns, demonstrations and training
    • Create reports as a result of the above
    • Prepares quotes by studying specifications and related customer documents; consulting with engineers and other professional and technical personnel
    • Receives and reviews purchase orders and contracts, submits orders via the ERP System, record and maintain customer contact data
    • Provide after-sales customer service and support
    • Participate in tradeshows, conferences and field related committee meetings
    • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
    • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

    Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geology
    • 3-5 years minimum of sales experience

    Other Requirements:

    • Geotechnical Instrumentation or sensor experience preferred
    • Managing and interpreting customer requirements and project applications
    • General knowledge of a wide range of Civil Engineering projects and terminology
    • Negotiating skills required
    • A strong technical background
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
    • Excellent organizational skills, discipline in keeping a schedule with the ability to adjust on the fly
    • Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft® Word™, Excel®, Outlook® and Teams® software)
    • Understanding of the product line and technical attributes
    • Continual awareness of industry related competition, existing and new technologies
    • Comfortable presenting in front of others and fielding technical questions
    • Ability to travel 40-50% per year
    • Valid passport preferred
    • Fluent English language required
    • Sound judgement and business sense
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States
