  • Purchasing Supervisor

    GEOKON is a manufacturer of sensors and instrumentation used in civil, mining and structural engineering projects throughout the world.

    We are currently seeking a Purchasing Supervisor, who at the direction of the Production Manager, will contribute to the success of GEOKON by managing all aspects of the purchasing for the company. This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    • Analyze reports for shortages and restocking requirements generated by the ERP system
    • Help Prioritize parts in incoming inspection, as required
    • Actively participate in Production, ECR, and Supervisor meetings
    • Work with the materials group to ensure that on hand quantities and safety stock levels are appropriate to meet current and future requirements
    • Assist engineering with special procurement requirements when necessary
    • Work closely with other departments to maintain adequate inventory levels within the ERP system
    • Develop effective relationships with suppliers to ensure that all purchased items meet both schedule and quality requirements
    • Maintain all appropriate procurement records
    • Help resolve NCAR issues with suppliers
    • Ensure that direct reports are cross trained
    • Performance Appraisals
    • Evaluate personnel requirements and hire and terminate as required
    • Develop and maintain training records for direct reports
    • Process purchase orders through the ERP system

    Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

    • Associate degree in a related technical field
    • 1-3 years of experience

    Other Requirements:

    • Excellent team player with the ability to work well across functional areas
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
    • Proficient with ERP software, Exact MAX software preferred
    • Internal knowledge of GEOKON product line preferred
    • Understanding of basic business processes, including costing analysis, profitability, data analytics preferred
    • Understanding of production processes, including assembly practices, procurement, manufacturing
    • Strong technical aptitude
    • Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft® Word™, Excel®, Outlook® and Teams® software, etc.)
    • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
    • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States
