Reykjavik, Iceland

On October 21st-22nd, 2008 Geokon held its first European Agents/Representatives meeting in Reykjavik, Iceland. Over 30 agents attended from 13 different countries for the 2-day event.

The agenda for the meeting included:

• A demonstration and training in the use of Vista’s VDV Data Visualization Software
• A presentation and demonstration of recent developments at Geokon
• Case history presentations by each agent describing either a project which used Geokon instrumentation or a related aspect of their business
• A round table discussion to exchange ideas and information

Additionally there were 3 guest presentations; one from our friends at G5 in Brazil who presented a case study on the Sao Paulo Metro, one from Hydroresearch in Sweden dealing with distributed fiber optic measurements and one from the GeoRadar Division of IDS in Italy, regarding interferometric monitoring of displacements of slopes and structures.

An informal dinner was held on the first evening at the home of Andres and Asta Thorarinsson, our gracious hosts from Vista Engineering. A more formal dinner took place on the second evening, at a typical Icelandic Restaurant, to conclude the event.

A similar meeting for our Asia-Pacific Agents is being planned for 2009.
