Today, load cells with higher capacities are becoming more commonly used in geotechnical applications. Consequently, there is a need for reasonably-priced calibration reports with accuracies that are traceable to the NIST standards. To this end, GEOKON has recently installed a custom-built press, manufactured by Grimco of New Jersey, which is capable of performing calibrations of up to 1,200 tons.
