  • Product Integration

    GEOKON, INCORPORATED is pleased to announce the integration of its LC-2 Series Dataloggers, GeoNet Wireless Network and Addressable Vibrating Wire Interface, and the compatibility of its Model 6150E Addressable MEMS IPIs, with the sensemetrics sensor management platform. This combination of technologies greatly expands the ways in which data can be collected remotely, with “plug and play” connectivity and with the ability be displayed in real-time on a user-friendly, browser-based data platform. The product integration has been successfully implemented, and running for extended periods of time, at a number of projects in the US, with international applications presently being designed.

Waterproof Single-Channel Datalogger

    Model 8002-WP

    The Model 8002-WP (LC-2WP) is a stand-alone, waterproof, single-channel datalogger designed to read both the vibrating wire element and the integral thermistor of any GEOKON vibrating wire sensor. The LC-2WP is housed inside a rugged PVC waterproof enclosure, which is particularly well-suited for operation in harsh environments. Power is provided by internal alkaline or lithium ‘D’ cells; 12 V batteries and solar panels options are also available.

New Mechanical Engineering Manager

    Pete Twarog

    GEOKON, INCORPORATED is pleased to announce the appointment of Pete Twarog as Mechanical Engineering Manager. Pete has worked in new product development for his entire career, as both a mechanical design engineer and an engineering team leader. Most recently, Pete worked 17 years for a leading OEM supplying industrial equipment for the welding and cutting industry, where he’s a member of the American Welding Society (AWS). He has degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts (BS) and the Georgia Institute of Technology (MS). Pete has a passion for both reliability and innovation in new product design and has over 20 US Patents. His duties at GEOKON will include driving new and custom product development, supporting the GEOKON product line, driving continuous improvement activities, and leading the GEOKON mechanical engineering team.

New Office Opening in Singapore

    GEOKON, INCORPORATED is pleased to announce the opening of GEOKON (S) PTE. LTD. in Singapore and the appointment of Chiep Ping (CP) Koh as Regional Director. The new office, located in Changi Business Park, will serve GEOKON’s clients in South East Asia, both directly and in cooperation with our existing network of agents and representatives. Chiep Ping (CP) Koh is a Civil Engineering graduate from the National University of Singapore. CP has extensive experience in the construction sector, and pile testing services in particular where he has collaborated with the Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) to develop guidelines for adoption by the pile testing community. CP is committed to providing the excellent customer service and support for which GEOKON is well known. We welcome CP and, with his help, look forward to building a strong presence and service center to benefit our clients in this region. To learn more about our new office, please contact CP.

Addressable Vibrating Wire Interface

    Model 8020-30

    The Model 8020-30 Addressable Interface is designed to “daisy-chain” vibrating wire sensors on a single 4-conductor cable, using the Modbus® RTU protocol over an RS-485 connection. The 8020-30 is useful for reducing cable runs in multipoint systems, incremental extensometers, and for applications where many sensor cables might compromise a grout or cement bond, e.g. on a soil nail. The system comprises a trunk cable with splitters containing the circuitry to excite, read and ID each sensor. Readout is achieved with the FPC-2 Field PC, 8600 Series Dataloggers or PC application.

    GEOKON is pleased to announce the addition of the Instantel Micromate to its rental fleet. With Micromate, Instantel has redefined industry standards for functionality and ease of use. Micromate provides reliable regulatory compliance monitoring with an ISEE or DIN Triaxial Geophone and ISEE Linear Microphone. Small enough to fit in your hand, Micromate is the first monitor in the industry to provide a touch screen interface. Support of USB 2.0 allows use of memory sticks and approved external devices such as USB hubs, modems, printers and GPS (sold separately). The Micromate is designed for ruggedness and reliability, the cornerstone attributes of Instantel products.

    GEOKON Receives Local Award

    On December 9, 2015, GEOKON, INCORPORATED received the Business of the Year award at the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Holiday Social, held at the Fireside Inn in West Lebanon, NH. The event was attended by more than 100 local business owners, town officials, friends, and members of the GEOKON workforce. As part of the Lebanon community, GEOKON contributes to many organizations and charitable causes in the area, and supports and encourages employees to participate in similar non-profit activities. In accepting the award with his wife Pat, GEOKON President Barrie Sellers acknowledged the spirit of the local community and briefly outlined GEOKON’s products, applications, and markets for the evening’s attendees.

    Model 8600 Series

    The Model 8600 Series Dataloggers are designed primarily for use with vibrating wire sensors and thermistors. The Model 8600 Series can also be configured to read MEMS, voltage, 4-20 ma, and numerous other sensor types. The 8600 Series are designed for use in harsh environments with wide temperature tolerance, resistance to moisture and humidity, and protection against lightning damage.

High Temperature Thermistor Probe

    Model 3800HT

    Manufactured from stainless steel, and utilizing a Teflon® jacketed cable, the 3800HT expands on the range (‒30°C to +230°C) of Model 3800 thermistor probes and Model 3810/3810A thermistor strings presently offered. The 3800HT is particularly well suited for the measurement of temperatures in landfills and in mass concrete, and in other applications which exceed the +80°C limit of the other models.

Geonet Wireless Multiplexers

    Model 8800-8

    Model 8800-8 Geonet Multiplexers are now available to expand the capacity of GEOKON’s Wireless Sensor Nodes to 8 channels, allowing clusters of closely spaced sensors to be added to the system, or to add Vibrating Wire Load Cells (3-6 sensors), Multi-point Borehole Extensometers (3-8 sensors) or Multilevel Piezometers. The Multiplexers are connected to the nodes via an interconnect cable and are supplied with mounting brackets for attaching to poles or backboards as required.
