GEOKON is a manufacturer of sensors and instrumentation used in civil, mining and structural engineering projects throughout the world.
We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer (MPE), reporting to the Production Manager, who will support and drive in-house manufacturing processes, support production, drive lean manufacturing principles and practices, identify and drive process improvements, ensure statistically capable processes, target improvements in product quality and manufacturing cost, and promote and support a safe working environment. This is a full-time position with the flexibility of working 8 hours between 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendor
- Provide daily support to production teams for technical issues that arise. Provide training and support in programming, operation and maintenance of all equipment in the work area
- Create and maintain all documents used to control the manufacturing process including but not limited to Engineering Change Request (ECR), routing, bills of material, standard work in each area, value stream maps and quality data collection sheets
- Identify process improvements to drive efficient flow through work areas
- Ensure production area processes operate within quality metric targets, identifying trends in quality performance
- Execute root cause analysis and corrective action plans, as necessary
- Drive definition and procurement of process technology and equipment. Develop maintenance schedules for all equipment within assigned work area.
- Actively participate on new product development teams, leading manufacturing support for product launches
- Design tooling, fixtures and workstations essential for new product introduction to the production area
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in related field
- Six Sigma certification(s)
- Experience with ISO17025
- Project Management Certification
- Industrial automation experience
Other Requirements:
- Excellent technical communications skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft® Word™, Excel®, PowerPoint®, Outlook® and Teams® software)
- Proficient with CAD software and Solid Works (or equivalent)
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, time management and documentation skills
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP Software required
- Ability to multi-task and must be organized
- Experience and working knowledge in Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Working knowledge of ISO9001/TS16949 framework, including Design and Process FMEA, PPAP, and Control Plan
- Experience operating a Lean Manufacturing environment and associated techniques/tools (cell manufacturing, standard work, 5S)
- Presentation and project management skills
- Proficient in Quality processes (First Article Inspection, NCM management MRB facilitation) and problem-solving techniques/tools (SCAR, Global 8D, DMAIC)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
